The VGC visits Abattoir

On Tuesday, 21 October 2025, the Commission for Culture, Youth and Sport of the VGC (Flemish Community Commission) paid a study visit to the Manufakture on the Abattoir site. At the request of the commission members, the visit provided a more in-depth look at the planned swimming pool project, the development of the Manufakture and the implementation of the masterplan towards 2035.

The SAU-MSI (Brussels Urban Development Corporation) was instructed some time ago by the Brussels Government to prepare a DBFMO procedure (Design, Build, Finance, Maintain & Operate), through which a private partner would be tasked with constructing and operating the future swimming pool.
Fingers crossed that this important project will move forward.
