FEBEV – Federation sector appalled at viewing animal abuse video

Just like FEBEV we are condemning firmly the animal abuse that was recently shown on film at the Tielt abattoir. Abbattoir SA is fully prepared to have cameras installed in their slaughterhouses, for as long as the privacy legislation is not endangered. We do have cameras on our site already, registering the unloading of the animals. The images are carefully monitored by our people. If necessary, we can intervene and ask respect from the transporters. Cameras inside the slaughterhouses should result in complete transparency, while obviously protecting the slaughters’ privacy.
