Car-free Sunday: 19/09

As every year, Car Free Sunday gives Brussels residents and tourists alike the chance to enjoy the city in a more pleasant way, without traffic jams and pollution. On Sunday 19 September, public transport (STIB and De Lijn) will be completely free and traffic will be banned throughout Brussels from 9.30 am to 7 pm. In the afternoon, market vendors will be able to drive from the Abattoir site to the Ring Road in convoy escorted by police. Those who still need to go to one of the Brussels municipalities have to request permission from their local authorities. Car-free Sunday is part of Mobility Week, which runs from 16 to 22 September all over Europe. You will find more information about alternative means of transport at mobilityweek.brussels.
