Renovation Works on the Coverted Market, our listed monument

Starting Tuesday, March 18, the company MONUMENT-VANDEKERCKHOVE will begin installing a large scaffold on the front façade of the covered market, directly across from the bull statues. The installation is expected to be completed around March 27.

During these two weeks, passage will not be possible, except on market days and during Boeremet. This scaffold is essential to prepare for the renovation work on the covered market and to consolidate the building.

The actual renovation work will not begin until early next year. The market hall will gradually be restored to its former glory. However, the full renovation will take several more years.

The project is supervised by architect Tars Stevens, who also oversaw the renovation of the rear façade.
