Car Free Sunday in Brussels
On Sunday 18 September 2016, the entire Region of Brussels with its' 19 municipalities, organizes the annual Car Free Sunday. From 9:30 am till 7 pm, car traffic is not allowed in the Brussels Region. Only persons with a pass can circulate in the areas where car traffic is forbidden. To visit our markets, just use your (electrical) bike ! Another solution is the public transport that will be for free on that day...
The police of Anderlecht organizes a convoy for the merchants who want to go home after the market. A departure is planned at 3 pm and at 5 pm, starting from the Quai de l'Industrie - Nijverheidskaai 168. Without pass or convoy, it will be impossible to leave the company floor and drive into the city till 7 pm.
For those who like to come by bike, a bicycle rack is installed at the market, rue Ropsy Chaudron 24, just alongside the main entrance's fence. No less than fifty bikes can be put away safely and comfortably in the metal racks painted red, so you really cannot miss them (see picture below). The Metrostations Clemenceau and Delacroix are at walking distance of the market.
